A Prayer for Revival in America.

Our Heavenly Father, we beg You to open the windows of heaven and come down! We cry out to You for a real revival to sweep over the Christians in America! We ask for a fresh touch of power from Your mighty hand! “Oh! That You would rend the heavens and come down! That the mountains would quake at Your presence.” We pray that You will give every Christian a fresh burden to pray fervently for revival. We pray that we will take no rest for ourselves, and we will give You no rest until You establish Your people and Your Church as a source of continual praise to You.

We confess that ours is a wicked nation, full of wicked people. We have scorned Your Word, and we have broken every commandment You gave, and have defiled Your Holy Name. Too often Your Precious Name has been associated with words of cursing. Our foul language has produced curses rather than blessings on our people. We have sown bad seed with filthy speech and reaped a harvest of spiritual decadence. Have mercy on us, O Lord!

We confess that ours is an immoral nation filled with immoral people. Many in the USA have rebelled against Holy Matrimony as You established it in Creation. We do not refrain from sexual sin or immorality. Many are guilty of fornication, of being sexually active before marriage. Many commit adultery, both homosexual and heterosexual sin. Many commit acts of sexual sin so unnatural that it defies description. We are publishing illicit sexual materials and call it pornography. Forgive our nation for sex trafficking, and pedophilia. Forgive us for bestiality and every other sort of sex crime. Many are co-cohabiting together without the benefit of legal marriage. Many are divorced for no biblical reason, and our homes have been destroyed. For all our sexual sins, we repent. Have mercy upon us, O God!

Holy Father, the USA has been proud of the fact that no wars have been fought on her soil. We forget the fact that our soil is red with the blood of people that our forefathers made into slaves. From the earliest days of this nation, black people were separated from their families, used, sold, beaten, and treated worse than most animals. For these tortures and atrocities that were committed on this island, we repent. Have mercy on us, O Lord!

We Confess that our soil has been stained red with the blood of Native American peoples that were murdered to eradicate them from their own land.

And today, in our own lifetimes, we are soaked in the blood of innocent infants that die every day due to abortion. We admit the statistics are true, over 50 million babies aborted since 1972! Lord, You taught us that each of us is “fearfully and wonderfully made.” You teach us that the safest place to be on the planet that You created for us is the mother's womb. Yet, we confess that we have made Your truths into lies!

Lord, will You have mercy on our churches? Will You resurrect the church of the Living God? We confess that all too many have forsaken Your desire that the church be called “a house of prayer.” Too often, our worship services have become little more than a religious showcase of the talents of men. Our preachers have failed to preach the Word of God and the Saving Gospel of the Lord, Jesus Christ. We have allowed Liberal Theology to take over in many seminaries and churches. We have adopted the doctrines of demons that cause many churches to be little more than social clubs. The blood of countless people who have not become Christians is on our hands. The eternities of countless millions have already been decided because of the failure of the church to be the church. Forgive us for our dead, man centered, worship services! Please rain down fire from heaven upon our desolate churches! Raise up a new generation of preachers and leaders who bring us back to the truth. Send revival, O Lord, we pray!

Lord, You have sent revival before. Do it Again! Hear our cries of desperation! Our Country is in a downward spiral of immorality and debauchery. We put our trust in our money rather than putting our trust in our God! O, God! Have mercy on Your children. Have mercy on Christians! We need Your presence in Your Church again! Fill the house with the glory of God! May we, Your people, called by Your Name, humble ourselves and pray. May we seek Your face! May we turn from our wicked ways! We pray that when we do, it will not be too late. You will graciously hear from Heaven, forgive our sin, and heal our land. Do this, and even more than we can ask or think! We pray!

Please, Father, send revival, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
